SAP Business One 9.0 has many functions to make daily use easier and more convenient, especially in the area of reporting.  Out of the box, SAP Business One comes with multiple System and Crystal Reports to deliver standard report capabilities that all or most customers will need.  In addition to these standard reports, SAP Business One includes the Drag & Relate Feature.  Drag & Relate is one of several ways that users can generate reports and access Master and System Data that’s not all there in a standard report.

Located in the left panel, SAP Business One provides a Drag & Relate Tab, next to Modules and My Cockpit.  By clicking on this Tab, users can access this feature to make spot relations between different record sets and review their results.

First, a user should think of a scenario.  In this example, we’ll take Customer A/R Invoice.  While that data can be accessed in the Sales Analysis Report, this new report will eliminate unnecessary fields, and takes less clicks to generate.  Here, the user can open Business Partner from the Drag & Relate Menu, select the Customer and then drag that record to A/R Invoice in the Sales – A/R folder.  Users need to ensure that before attempting to drag the Customer name, that it is highlighted with a rectangle around the field.

Here’s another example.  Say for instance that a user wanted to see all the delivers for a specific Business Partner Group, like Large Accounts.  They would simply open Business Partner > Business Partner Group.  From there, a user would simply drag the rectangle around Large Accounts and drag it to Deliveries from the Sales A/R folder in Drag & Relate.

From there, a user could continue to refine their search by dragging a specific Business Partner to Delivery, or to some other field like Returns, from the Sales – A/R menu to see if any of those deliveries were returned by that specific customer.
