Affordable Mobile Credit Card Processing for you iPhone, Android or Blackberry Device from Sage

Sage Payment Services has announced a new app, program and hardware to take payments from all of the leading smartphones and even the ipad. Most existing solutions are a bundle of components and have steep fees buried into it for the ‘luxury’ of taking credit cards in a mobile scenario like a trade show, or even a Botox Party Smile .

Sage Payment Services is owned by the same Sage that publishes MAS 90, MAS 200, MAS 500. However, this application will work with any ERP application that can import payments such as Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, AX, or SAP Business One.

We have seen that Sage Payment Services (SPS) has historically been very competitive with all of the major players out there. Sage has their own platform and is not reselling a 3rd parties solution with this. If you look at the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) which combines per transaction fees and monthly fees, the SPS solution is likely to cost less than any other available and one solution works on almost all Smartphone platforms.

Free MAS 90 and MAS 200 Knowledgebase search via the power of Google

Somebody has setup a search definition use the Google Custom search feature that lets you research most of the Sage Infosource results via Google. Google offers many powerful operators that may not be available within the Infosource native interface. Although we don’t condone it, apparently this search works regardless of your current maintenance status. Sage should probably close this loophole. Essentially this gives you Sage FREE MAS90 and MAS200 Support.

Sage MAS Intelligence (SMI) for MAS 90, MAS 200, and MAS500 – Part 2

Shipping now, Sage MAS Intelligence (SMI) which works with MAS 90, MAS 200, Sage Extended Enterprise Suite, and MAS500, is explained and demonstrated in this recording that the California office of Clients First recently put on for our clients.

The video explains both the similarities and differences between the previous solution, Microsoft FRx and SMI. This is Part 2 of a two part series where we delve into much more details on how to use the application.

In a nutshell, SMI is a solution that is embedded into Microsoft Excel that can directly read and understand MAS 90/200/500 data files. It’s designed to walk a user through creating not only financial reports and statements, but other types of non-financial reports such as dashboards, analytics, KPI’s and even traditional reports such as an AP vendor aging.

Sage Introduces MAS200 SQL 4.45

Below are two videos explaining the details of the new Sage MAS 200 SQL 4.45. This is a completely new SQL product for the MAS product line relative to the old MAS 200 SQL 3.74. It uses the business framework and is much faster and more efficient due to the normalized data structures used within MAS200’s Business Framework introduced in 4.0.

The first video is a powerpoint and presentation on the solution and the second is an actual product demonstration.

Note that this version is ONLY available for sale to new MAS90/200 customers. You cannot buy it if you currently run MAS90/200. This is because they haven’t written a data migration utility yet.

In addition it only works with Business Framework modules. This means if you depend on either payroll, work order, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), or Job Cost, even when the conversion is available, this won’t work for you.

Currently there is no integration with Sage CRM (i.e. Extended Enterprise Suite), fixed assets and it is not yet compatible with Sage MAS Intelligence or FRx. This means you financial reporting will be limited to the standard financial reports in the GL.

Sage should have most of these issues (other than the old modules that we don’t believe they are ever going to upgrade) addressed in version 4.5 which is slated for Q3 2011.

SAP Business One ERP – New 8.8 Cockpit Review Video

SAP recently announced that service update 12 will include a new “Cockpit” and a preview to the new “Dashboards” functionality in the solution. It also includes other features such as queues and high speed ‘google’ like search.
